Who we are


The Entertainment Technology Industry Alliance (ETIA) unites national associations across Europe working in media and live event technologies. Our members include manufacturers, distributors, integrators, production companies and service providers of all sizes — together representing around 1,800 organisations across Europe.

ETIA is a platform for collaboration, bringing together expertise and resources for the benefit of our members and the industry at large. We act as a unified voice to address shared challenges, advocate for the sector, and contribute informed insights to European legislative and regulatory discussions.

Our associations are key drivers of sustainable growth and innovation in entertainment and media technology — shaping the future of live events through their technologies, services, and standards development.

Members

AFIAL is a national business association made up of manufacturers and distributors of audiovisual technology. The association aims to join forces to improve market conditions, primarily supporting national and international activities related to the promotion and positioning of Spanish brands in the market. AFIAL defends the interests of all companies in the audiovisual technology sector. It currently has 20 member companies.

L’Alliance APESA – a branch of SEINEP – is a trade organisation representing manufacturers and distributors of audiovisual, stage and events equipment in France. L’Alliance APESA represents over 30 companies and brands and its membership base is very diverse: medium, small and micro enterprises, French and European companies or subsidiaries of international businesses. Our organization takes an active part in fostering a multi-stakeholders’ dialogue within the event industry, including through regular discussions with public authorities on major policy issues, while promoting our members’contribution to the economy, employment, culture and society as a whole.

AVITA – AudioVisual Association of Finland is a nation-wide association for expert companies who manufacture, import, sell and install equipment and systems for professional use in audio, video, lighting, multimedia, presentation and other audiovisual fields. The main goals of AVITA is to supervise and look after the benefits of its members, organize trade shows, create trade statistics, observe the overall development of audiovisual trade and keep members and their clients up to date with the industry news.

Event Confederation is the umbrella organisation that unites, represents, defends and informs all event organisers and suppliers in Belgium. Our members are federations, organisations, and freelancers who are professionally active in the event sector as organisers or suppliers. Event Confederation strives for official recognition of the sector and aims at making it safer, more innovative, more international, and more sustainable.

PLASA – For over 50 years, PLASA has provided a collective voice for the entertainment technology sector.  PLASA represents and supports its members across lighting, audio, staging, rigging, AV and special effects. PLASA enables its members to promote their products and services, collaborate with peers, and amplify the voice of the industry across the UK and Europe. By maintaining strong links with policymakers and industry bodies, PLASA helps ensure the sector’s interests are heard and respected. Through professional standards, training, certification and advocacy, PLASA contributes to a resilient, vibrant and future-facing industry – one where individuals and businesses alike can build rewarding and sustainable careers.

PSA – The Production Services Association is the largest trade association for people and companies involved in live production based in the UK. Our members operate internationally, and we aim to connect our sector with those that influence our work from the outside. Established in 1994, our 2,500+ members comprise a diverse group of distributors, hire companies, production managers and end users of all disciplines.

VPLT is the German trade association for the media and event technology industry. It represents the interests of manufacturers, service providers, operators, dealers, retailers and distributors in the event industry. Its 700 members include SMEs, large companies and independent sole traders. The association is involved in developing national and international norms and standards for the industry, with the objective to ensure and improve quality in all areas of media and event technology and contribute to a more sustainable future. VPLT also defends the members’ interests in the context of legal frameworks and in policy debates at national and EU level. With the aim of boosting vocational training, VPLT sets standards for professional education and training in companies and advises and supports several institutions. It offers training courses by members for members within the format of VPLT+.


Partners

APWPT, the Association of Professional Wireless Production Technologies represents the interests of all those involved in wireless production technologies – the professional end users and manufacturers of wireless production equipment. The focus lies on frequency requirements, frequency usage and frequency policy. The association promotes the exchange of information and creates technical guidelines for users and public authorities. It is active in European as well as international bodies to ensure that access to radio spectrum remains available to the live event sector and that new technologies are included in regulations and standards.

Created in 1991, Pearle* – Live Performance Europe is the „Performing Arts Employers Associations League Europe“, the European Federation of Music and Live Performance Organisations. Pearle* represents through its members more than 14 500 theatres, concert venues, theatre production companies, orchestras, operas, ballet and dance companies, festivals, promoters and other professional organisations in the performing arts in Europe. Pearle* is the leading organisation on EU and international regulatory affairs issues affecting daily operations of live performance organisations
