ETIA joins the Wider Spectrum Group and APWPT

Access to radio spectrum, in particular the 470–694 MHz frequency band is essential for live events of every kind, from concerts and theatre productions to conferences, exhibitions and other corporate events. Wireless microphones, in-ear monitoring systems and other wireless production technologies depend on reliable access to spectrum.

As European-wide network in the field of media and entertainment technology, ETIA is committed to safeguarding the spectrum resources our sector depends on. Demand for wireless production technologies at events continues to grow, while increasing pressure from other spectrum users, including the mobile communications sector, puts continued access at risk.

The upcoming World Radiocommunication Conferences and especially WRC-31 will play a decisive role in shaping the future availability of spectrum for the media, entertainment and live event industries. Strong and coordinated advocacy at both European and international level is therefore more important than ever.

To strengthen its engagement, ETIA has joined the Wider Spectrum Group (WSG) and the Association of Professional Wireless Production Technologies (APWPT). Membership in these organisations enables ETIA to work alongside leading partners in promoting the interests of the professional media and entertainment technology sector and advocating for sustainable access to the radio spectrum on which it relies. By joining both organisations, ETIA reinforces its commitment to working collaboratively with trusted partners across Europe and beyond to secure the future use of wireless production technologies for the live event sector, including the cultural and creative industries.
