Shaping the Future of Entertainment Technology: Engaging in ISO/TC 354

On the 26th August, The Entertainment Technology Industry Alliance (ETIA) hosted an online webinar for its members, and for their respective memberships, on ETIA’s involvement in ISO/TC 354 as a liaison organisation. The webinar provided an overview of ISO/TC 354, its scope and structure, and how engagement in standardisation can help the entertainment technology industry influence future standards for the benefit of the sector.

The webinar was led by Robert Trebus, a member of the VPLT Board who is actively involved in ETIA and has extensive experience in international standardisation. Robert has been involved with both the German Institute for Standardisation (DIN) and ISO for many years and was involved from the outset in the establishment of ISO Technical Committee 354 (TC 354).

Robert participates in TC 354 as a DIN expert representing the German standardisation body, while also bringing extensive knowledge and experience from the entertainment technology industry into the committee’s work. In the webinar, Robert provided an overview of how TC 354 operates, its rapidly expanding scope and, importantly, how the entertainment technology industry can strategically engage with the standardisation process and influence the standards that may shape the sector in the future.
